Mending the World: Medical Teams International

Events | Headline and Cultural Forums

The Portland-metro region is home to a number of organizations making a difference around the globe, including Medical Teams International. How do they respond to disasters around the world—and here at home? Where do they work and how do they mobilize long-term health promotion initiatives with local communities globally to have a sustainable impact? Join us for a close-up look at MTI's work with Joe DiCarlo, Global Ambassador for MTI; followed by discussion with Felix Omodi, country director for MTI's Uganda programs. Great opportunity to hear about not only MTI's mission and work, but hear first-hand, frontline stories from Omodi, who has helped thousands of Ugandans recover from chronic conflict, disease and displacement/homelessness and survived a nine-month abduction by the Lord's Resistance Army.
