Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Rich Read and photographer Jamie Francis of The Oregonian recently returned from Jordan and Lebanon where they spent two weeks reporting on the plight of Syrian refugees.  While there, they visited the giant Zaatari camp (which holds as many as 130,000 refugees), tent villages, Mercy Corps project sites, and a Medical Teams International clinic. They asked Syrians about their wartime experiences, their escapes abroad, and the challenges they face as refugees—a harrowing picture of the devastating toll that the war is exacting on children, families, and communities.

Francis will show slides and videos, and he and Read will discuss the crisis in which more than 6 million Syrians have left home, with more fleeing every day as fighting continues.
