Fulbright Scholars

35 visitorsMultiregional

The World Affairs Council of Oregon is pleased to partner with the Intensive English Language Program (IELP) at Portland State University to provide an evening of dinner hospitality on Saturday, July 29th for 35 international Fulbright students.

Who’s Coming To Dinner?
  • 35 international Fulbright students in their first year of study in the U.S.
  • Graduate and PhD candidates in a variety of fields, ages 20s-40s
  • From up to 15 different countries around the world!

Being hosted for dinner in an American home is often one of the most memorable and impactful experiences for international visitors—and a great opportunity for Oregonians to learn more about other cultures. Enjoy lively conversation about the world around the dinner table!

It’s easy to host! Hosts are asked to provide a meal and a welcoming environment for groups from 2 to 4 visitors. Dinners should take place in a home – any kind of home – the evening of Saturday, July 29. Students will be staying in Portland State University housing in downtown Portland. Pickups will be arranged and coordinated with World Affairs Council of Oregon staff.

Community members can participate with this group in the following ways:
