Algerians Take the Stage

he International Visitor Program is always looking to host groups on different themes, so when the opportunity to host a group of musicians that included two rappers, a hip hop dancer, drummers, and other musicians presented itself, we jumped on it. Within two weeks, we were able to confirm the group’s willingness to perform in Portland and through the support of Backspace and the Ethos Music Center, we secured donated performance space and instruments for the group to use. The group performed at Backspace on September 28th, 2011.
