Host an International Visitor this Summer

News | International Visitors

This year we have several unique hosting opportunities with visitors from around the world coming to Portland.  These inspiring professionals and students are visiting the U.S. to develop their leadership skills, explore models for promoting civic engagement, and share their culture with Oregonians.  Sign up to host a visiting leader with:

Community Connections: Enhancing Community Engagement (June 7 - 28)

10 adult nonprofit professionals from Belarus.

Jóvenes en Acción (July 18 - 30)

15 high school students from Mexico.

Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program (July 20 - August 3)

12 high school students and 1 adult mentor from Iraq and the U.S.

Seeing Oregon through the eyes of local families gives visitors a deeper understanding of our community and builds international diplomacy from the bottom-up.  Host families provide a supportive family environment, an individual bed, breakfasts and dinners, and assistance with transportation to and from our downtown office. Weekdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm the visitors will participate in workshops and program activities coordinated by the World Affairs Council of Oregon.

Join us in welcoming these amazing leaders to Portland!
