Discussion Groups

Throughout Oregon members of more than 45 Great Decisions discussion groups meet to discuss the latest foreign policy issues using the Great Decisions Briefing Book, Teacher’s Guide and DVD as guides. Groups meet at libraries, schools, community centers, religious organizations, and homes from Ashland and Bend to Yamhill to Zig Zag and throughout the Portland metropolitan area. The format of the discussion program is intended to promote thoughtful conversation and to bring people together to explore ideas and opinions around the big issues affecting the globe.

Discussion groups are self organizing. Staff at the World Affairs Council is available to refer individuals to discussion groups in their area. If you’re interested in joining one of the 20 discussion groups around Oregon, or 20 others within the Portland Metropolitan area, or would like to start your own, please contact Tim DuRoche at timdatworldoregon [dot] org or (503) 306-5261.
