The International Speaker Series was initiated in 2000 to celebrate the World Affairs Council of Oregon’s 50th Anniversary. Since its inception, the Series has become the nation’s premier speaker series for international affairs and public eduation, presenting the people, ideas, and issues shaping our global future. Each year, the Series brings prominent international leaders to Oregon, including Madeleine Albright, Jane Goodall, Thomas Friedman, Mikhail Gorbachev, Desmond Tutu, Bill Clinton, Sandra Day O’Connor, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Bono, and many more.
