The annual International Speakers Series brings some of the world’s most influential leaders and global experts to Portland to address the most significant issues of our time. This year’s theme, ‘Women Changing the World’, highlights the work of four women who are addressing issues of global importance.
To harness the momentum of this exceptional Series, we will be organizing many events around the Women Changing the World theme. Read more.
The International Speakers Series was initiated in 2000 to celebrate the World Affairs Council of Oregon’s 50th anniversary. Since its inception, the Series has become the nation’s premier speaker series focusing on the most pressing global topics of our time. Each year, the Series brings prominent international leaders to Portland, including Madeleine Albright, Jane Goodall, Thomas Friedman, Mikhail Gorbachev, Desmond Tutu, Bill Clinton, Sandra Day O’Connor, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Condoleezza Rice, Bono, and many more.
